“tell me about…” are some of the most powerful words I know, and the answers always yield something unexpected. sometimes funny, sometimes inspiring, sometimes heartbreaking, and always revealing. “tell me about the day you found out you were coming to the United States.” I have asked this question of many refugees and take photos while they describe this life altering experience. “tell me about your work and why you love it.” I watch as people remember what it is they love about their job and why they willingly go day after day. our stories are powerful and to be a witness as well as a photographer is a privilege I don’t take for granted. let me help illustrate your story.
